Henry and his colleagues are said to be looking at building a multi-team network in a similar manner to Premier League rivals Manchester City and the Spanish side have reportedly been eyed as one of their first acquisitions.

Multi-club ownership is now a major trend throughout world football, with the City Football Group and Red Bull two examples of collectives with bulging portfolios. FSG currently own Liverpool as well as Major League Baseball franchise the Boston Red Sox and National Hockey League team the Pittsburgh Penguins.
As reported by , Torres said: "No. It’s been for sale since I arrived. I’ve been here for 25 years, and every year a journalist comes out saying…and now it’s Liverpool. But it’s not for sale. One day I’ll have to leave. But until then, there’s a long way to go."
Getafe have spent all but one season in La Liga since 2004-05 and finished 13th last term. Liverpool, meanwhile, will be looking to defend their Premier League crown during the 2025-26 campaign.
